How We Help
Authors at JCPL
This series brings bestselling and award-winning writers from around the country to Johnson County. Your support of the Foundation helps us continue to bring authors to our county.
Expanding Explore Summer
The Foundation is committed to expanding JCPL's Explore Summer learning program which encourages community members to read, create and discover. The program supports the development of early literacy skills, prevents learning loss in school-age children and brings readers of all ages together with fun activities and great prizes.
“JCPL’s Summer Learning Program helps kids stay engaged with the learning process all summer long. Our staff and patrons love the innovative programs, fun activities and great prizes.”
– Sarah Taylor, JCPL Assistant Director
Special Projects Campaign for the new Clark Pleasant Branch
Enhancing the Story seeks to fund enhancements inside and outside the branch which opened in March 2022. Learn more about the Enhancing the Story campaign here.
Friends of JCPL
The Friends of JCPL are part of the Foundation. Their book sales raise funds to support programs at all JCPL Branches.
Snuggle Up with a Book Ball
In 2019, the Foundation hosted the first Snuggle Up with a Book Ball, a unique at-home fundraising event. Supporters donate to the Foundation and then stay home to enjoy snuggling up with a book the day of the event. The money raised from this annual event supports the Authors at JCPL visits.
