A Special Evening with James Patterson and Matt Eversmann
a fundraiser to support Authors at JCPL

The Johnson County Public Library Foundation is thrilled to announce an exceptional opportunity to hear James Patterson and Matt Eversmann speak about their new book, “American Heroes.” General Major (Ret.) R. Martin Umbarger will introduce the authors and welcome Rafael Sanchez, our guest interviewer. This special fundraiser will support the Library's Authors at JCPL series, which brings bestselling and award-winning authors to our community. For devoted James Patterson fans, this is the year's must-attend event, and we anticipate tickets will sell out quickly. It’s also a fantastic chance to acquire a unique gift for friends and family who admire and appreciate American military heroism. Don't miss this unforgettable night with James Patterson and First Sergeant Matt Eversmann (Ret.).

ABOUT THE BOOK

"American Heroes" is a nonfiction work that is bound to touch the hearts and minds of millions as it compiles the unbelievable and riveting first-person accounts of our country’s greatest heroes. From World War II, Korea, and Vietnam to Iraq and Afghanistan, these men and women share never-before-told stories of the actions that earned them America’s most distinguished military medals.

ABOUT THE AUTHORS

James Patterson is the most popular storyteller of our time. He is the creator of unforgettable characters and series, including Alex Cross, the Women’s Murder Club, Jane Smith, and Maximum Ride, and of breathtaking true stories about the Kennedys, John Lennon, and Tiger Woods, as well as our military heroes, police officers, and ER nurses.

Patterson has coauthored #1 bestselling novels with Bill Clinton and Dolly Parton and collaborated most recently with Michael Crichton on the blockbuster "Eruption." He has told the story of his own life in James Patterson by James Patterson and received an Edgar Award, ten Emmy Awards, the Literarian Award from the National Book Foundation, and the National Humanities Medal.

Matthew Eversmann is a testament to the true nature of war and heroism. He was immortalized in the epic film Black Hawk Down (his character was played by Josh Hartnett), which tells the heroic account of a group of elite US soldiers sent into Mogadishu, Somalia, in 1993 as part of a UN peacekeeping operation.
