"I feel the staff does the best they can with the space they have, but I can definitely understand the need for more space. I especially like the idea for the learning lab and teen learning center, our son is 11. As a homeschooling family, the library branches are so important to us and such a valuable resource. We support this project!"

Community Development Specialist, City of Franklin
"Libraries are more relevant today than ever before. They are places for all ages to learn and find stories that fuel the imagination. They are a home for personal growth and a hub for neighbors to connect with one another."
Roger Brouse
AARP Tax-Aid Volunteer
"As a volunteer with AARP Tax-Aid program, my group of volunteers and I have enjoyed the use of the Clark Pleasant Library branch community room to provide free tax preparation services for area residents. The community room at this library branch is too small to support a larger number of people seeking our services. I am very much in favor of a new location with the ability to serve larger groups of people in this area of the county."

"I want to live in a place where anyone can walk into the local public library and know what my community values – democracy, literacy, connection, community and its citizens as diverse individuals. The current and future citizens of Johnson County deserve a large, high-quality library system designed to meet their current and future needs."

“Having a strong public library that serves the needs of the community is a great resource in helping all families advance literacy and education levels. These community amenities are the indelible assets which make Johnson County an amazing place to live, work, and grow.”
Ashley Bricker
Community Member and Library Patron
“Our library has been so special to us over the years. With a five, three, and one-year-old we have enjoyed storytimes, many fun crafts, holiday festivities and so much more. We’ve met some of our best friends there, too, thanks to the fun children’s environment. Our children enjoy coming in to play with the puzzles, toys, and explore all the many books that pique their interest that day. We usually walk away with more than mama can carry! I’m so thankful for the wonderful staff who resource us with incredible books and crafts to do together at home, too. I’m grateful for a library that helps our family make lasting connections through reading together. It also makes me feel great knowing my children are thriving and learning thanks to all our library and staff have to offer for us. Many many thanks!!”

Adult Learning Center Student
“The ALC has been very helpful to my life in the U.S. I’m learning English. My listening skills have improved. The English I learn at the ALC is useful for medical appointments, shopping, my kids’ school work, and understanding the news. I can now communicate with people in English and I have made friends!”
Kanae (Kimishima) and her family, originally from Japan, live in Greenwood while her husband works for a Japanese manufacturing company.
Lisa Lintner, Director
Johnson County Public Library
“Public libraries are catalysts for a community’s physical development. Libraries are highly regarded and seen as contributing to the stability, safety, and the quality of life in neighborhoods. Our plan is to enhance Clark Pleasant’s quality
of place.”
